How To Play Blackjack
To begin playing Blackjack you first need to place a bet on the table, you can choose any amount you wish but it must be with in the table stakes limit that is displayed on the Blackjack table at which you are playing.
Once you have placed your wager and clicked the Deal button the Dealer will deal out two cards to you and two cards to himself, in most games one of the Dealers cards will be dealt face up.
You now need to decide if you are happy with your hand, and this is where you have to make one of several different decisions, these are listed below.
Hit - You can request another card or cards to be dealt to your hand and to do this you simply need to click the Hit button, when you Hit your hand these additional cards are free.
Stand - If you are happy with your hand you can Stand this simply means you are not going to be dealt any additional cards.
Split - If you have been dealt two cards that share the same value, such as a Pair of Three's of maybe a Ten and a Jack then you can, on most games Split them.
One card will be moved aside to form a new hand and this new hand will also require an additional stake, this much be the same amount as your initial wager.
Double - Some games permit you to Double Down, this simply means you are buying an additional card to be dealt to your hand, the price of this extra card is the same as your initial wager.
If at any time your hand total goes over 21 in value then you have bust and your stake will be lost.
If both yourself and the Dealer get dealt the same valued hand then often a Push is declared which is simply a tied hand in which you receive your stake money back, unless the Dealer or yourself has a Blackjack hand (an Ace and a Ten valued card) and the other has a 21 valued hand, in these cases it is the Blackjack hand that is deemed the stronger and therefore the winner.
Surrender - Some games will let you get out of the game by giving up both your cards and half your stake.
Insurance - This is another bet which is not obligatory and you will be offered it if the Dealers upcard is an Ace, you are simply wagering that he is holding a Blackjack hand.
There you have it there isn't much required to play a game of Blackjack just find a good variant with a low house edge, grab yourself a strategy card and you are on your way!
